Ebay Member - Shill bidding on item I bought

Hi

I bought a Ralph Lauren jacket on ebay the other week and now I have just found some interesting information.

The item was received fine - didn't like it but was happy in the end.

However after doing some investigating after becoming suspiscios I have found that the ebay member concerned, michellep9369 , has had the same ebay member bidding on nearly all of their items.

jennyg2716 has bid on most of her items and only won once. It looks very much like shill bidding. Basically increasing the price of the item by getting a friend or using another account to bid on the item.

I am wondering what I can do now? Is there anyway I can sort this out. This seems very wrong to me.

I emailed the member myself, and they have denied all knowledge of this.

Thanks.

    Item I bought:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360024020146&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=023

If you look at the bidding history, you see jennyg2716.

    Other items sold by seller:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360024877905

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360016991537

    (There are MANY more too...)

As you can see in the bidding history - all have been bid on by jennyg2716 - now is this just an unlucky bidder than is never winning? Or is it something more sinister?

Any advice on what I should do?

michelle has bid on quite a few of jennys auctions too, but both of them have bid on a number of others sellers items too (eg. 8 items from john, 4 from bill and 6 from tom)

I couldn't say whether it was shilling or not really.

its difficult, i often multiple buy from a seller, and other people must think she is shill bidding for herself, when in actual fact it is just me trying to win the auction. its very hard to work out what is shilling and what isnt

Just report it (although probably 50:50 on whether EBay will do anything) and in the future just bid at the last minute.

not really as if she is stupid enough to shill shes stupid enough to let everyone watch her doing it so she could use the excuse (if i was shill bidding would i make it public) when yes i think she would

There are some really greedy ebayers out there i sell on ebay myself but im more of a buyer than a seller so if think some one has been shill bidding on items im bidding on i will stop bidding and the shill bidder ends u[p winning the item,so i always tend to watch the item and go back to the item a few days after the auction as finished just to look at the feedback and suprise suprise the item as been relisted due to non paying bidder
when the new feedback system starts which i think stinks for the honest sellers, this will be the ideal time for buyers who have been the subject to shill bidders to

Reply from ebay, so doesn't tell me if it was shill bidding or not?!

    Hello,

Thank you for your email. I appreciate your time and effort for letting
us know about a possible breach on our Shill Bidding policy on the
jacket (item #360024020146) you've won from the seller "michellep9369".

I understand you suspect a fraudulent activity from the member
"jennyg2716" who repeatedly bidding on most of the seller's items. I
know how important it is for you to inform us regarding this matter and
I'm very much willing to assist you with this.

I'd like you to know that I've investigated the involved accounts
referring to the information you had provided to us. I've then compared
it to our records of bidding patterns and other activity involving the
reported accounts. As I would like to inform you that any action that
will be taken against these accounts can be visible to you or may not be
    visible immediately.

If the member receives a warning or a temporary suspension, you may well
see them continue to use eBay. Please understand that our disciplinary
action ranges from formal warnings or temporary account restrictions to
indefinite suspension of a member's account.

In the meantime, please understand that due to eBay's privacy policy, we
can't share details of the action we take against the involved accounts.

Furthermore, it's entirely up to you if you would like to get a refund.
I'd like to explain further why eBay can't get involved directly in
    disputes between buyers and sellers.

eBay provides a market place for buyers and sellers to interact just as
a local authority might provide a physical venue for a market to take
place. We have limited legal powers and responsibilities. We provide the
listing and bidding systems, but we do not authenticate users, verify
items or guarantee that you will receive payment or the item.

The limitations on our responsibility are explained in detail in our
User Agreement, under the heading "Liability". To read our User
Agreement, copy the following link into a new browser window:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/user-agreement.html

I strongly encourage you to talk to your seller. If you decide that you
want a refund after all, I recommend that you contact them. If the
seller agrees to refund you, they can request a Final Value Fee credit
    and relist the item.

To request a credit, the seller needs to open an Unpaid Item dispute in
the Dispute Console of their My eBay. If they choose a "Mutual
Agreement" not to proceed with the transaction, the seller can receive a
Final Value Fee credit, but you won't receive any negative mark on your
    account.

To learn more about this process, copy this link into a new browser
    window:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/tp/unpaid-item-process.html

I know your time is valuable and we appreciate you taking a moment to
express your concern to us. I trust this information helps you make a
decision on how to proceed with your bid.

    Kind regards,

    Alison Angler
