Non Performing Seller - SCANDAL

In the wake of last night's Watchdog program how many of us have suffered this fate?

What has e-bay done?

Have you had any result (money back) from ebay or paypal?

I think we need to see how big this problem is.

    Myself

Bought an item in US $102 + $5 p+p at end of May. Non delivery, seller now barred/no longer registered user.

Paypal says seller at fault but can not do anything.

Ebay have been messing around with it since end June no result.

    All paperwork sent to Germany

Now they tell me I was not the highest bidder. Have sent PayPal and Ebay receipts again!!!

I bid on a camcorder on the 13th October, I didn't win, but then received an email as second bidder. I accepted. Paid via Paypal. Item didn't arrive, no answer to any emails etc. I then noticed, 6 days after the auction, that someone had left negative feedback for the seller, saying that they were under investigation for fraud with Paypal! (needless to say I didn't receive the camcorder!)

I immediately filed a claim with Ebay, also Paypal. I am still waiting to see what the outcome will be.
What do you think I should do now, is it any good contacting my credit card company? Any advice would be most welcome.

I bid and won a Buffy boxset for £13. It never arrived and the seller couldn't care less and even said it was my own fault for not choosing a special delivery. Being a Newby I was too late to do anything through Paypal and Ebay weren't interested despite me filing emails and even posting a claim form to Germany. Im not bothered about the £13 but this man's attitude really sucked and I wanted Ebay to do something about it.

I left negative feedback and he left me some back! So now Im not at 100% and its not me at fault!!

I describe myself as somewhat a "seasoned ebayer" always careful with who I buy from and can often smell a rat and get proved right when the seller becomes de-registered days later. So I was pretty miffed when I was myself scammed out of (not much but) circa £45.

I filed through paypal and like many of you was told the seller was at fault but they could not recover any monies from him. This is because paypal protection simply tries to reverse the payment from the seller's paypal account. This means if the seller has promptly transferred the funds out, as you would expect a fraudster to do, then its bye-bye to your money.

I got in touch with their fraud protection department and sent paperwork to Germany as instructed after gathering all my evidence together. They acknowledged receipt and then all communication halted. Over the course of the following three months I persisted with my claim with constant polite but determined emails.

Then eventually I was given my money back by ebay. It is very easy after several weeks or months to give in and write off your losses but if you hang in there, read and re-read their instructions and policy and follow them and don't let the matter rest, I believe your chances of successful re-imbursement would be significantly increased
