A mate has offered me his 37" plasma tv at a cheap price because it has dead pixels. However the pixels are not just dots,in some places it has turned into a vertical line down the entire screen. Is this fixable and what does it entail? Is it likely to be expensive?

you can try it, but it won't do much0

Dead pixels are an electrical connection problem, with a straight line on the screen there is complete failure in that part of the circuit, repair would mean replacing the screen - prohibitive cost.
Once it has started to go bad, it will probably continue getting worse with more pixels failing soon.0 -
thanks for the replys guys, looks like I won't be buying it after all. It's dissappointed my teenage boy as it was for him for gaming, but if it needs a new screen then it isn't cheap after all.0
