mamas and papas pulse buggy

Does anyone have any experience on this buggy - I am tempted to buy one as I need a lightweight stroller for my daughter.

Many Thanks

    Hi,

I have no comments on the model you are looking at but have noticed that argos do a Mamas and Papas aria puschair with rain cover, footmuff and changing bag for £99.99, its on page 1473 of the new book if you want a look. Seems a good buy
  • After personal experience of a M&P 3 in 1 pram, I don't think I'll ever buy from this company again.

If you are after lightweight, I would go for McClaren, mine has been round the world with me, is lightweight and still in top condition over a year later.

Do you mind if i ask what that bad experince was? I thought Mamas and Papas was a good brand? I was looking at the McLaren but thought that M&P was a better brand....looks like I may be wrong?

Not interested in the Aria as I want a stroller so it folds up and takes the less space in the boot. Thanks though!

M&P seem to have a good marketing campaign to keep it looking as one of the best. I have bought a 3 in 1 pram, car seat, cot, highchair etc and when I compare them to my friends I have found they aren't as good as their models.

The materials they use wear fairly quickly. The plastic used in my pram/pushchair aren't in very good condition, despite only using it for a few months before I moved on to the McClaren at 6 months, bits have fallen off (such as the screw covers and the plastic on the handle) breaks have failed (after 3 months use), M&P customer service is appauling, after a lot of insistence they agreed to take the pram back in for checking and replacing of screw covers and correction of the break. Because it is so large they needed to send a box for me to return it in, this never arrived, nor the return labels, despite 10 calls to their offices it never arrived and then on my last call to them I was told the warranty was now out of date and they wouldn't do anything!!! It appears this may be a ploy! I have also heard they have appeared on watchdog!

The cot had a rough edge I hadn't noticed when we put it together (didn't do a major check as I thought it would have been quality controlled) and on the first occasion I put my 5 month old in the cot without a grobag on he snagged his toe on the rough edge and bled (to see your 5 month old bleed due to a nursery item fault is very hard to accept), customer services just said they can't guarantee an item won't be rough, it is wood, they wouldn't take the item back to correct the fault and insisted I have a carpenter fix it at my expense.

While I haven't had problems with the highchair, it is exceptionally difficult to clean (and as it needs cleaning most days it is a pain) many of my friends versions of these items with other suppliers are much better.

Customer service has really put me off M&P and I no longer intend to buy anything from them. They are over priced for what they are and would much sooner buy another brand.

On the plus side my McClaren has been perfect, and would strongly recommend them all the time. I have the TechnoXt and it is perfect.

I haven't experienced mamas and papas but the maclaren buggy I have is very light weight, easy to manouver, easy to fold up and open and has had very heavy use but is still in excellent condition with no wear on it at all 15 months after purchase. (I've used it every day.)

The only trouble with them is the brakes which can be very hard to apply, but when I've used friends' buggies I'm always glad to get back to mine.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
