laptop problem any help greatly appreciated

:mad: :mad: :mad: dont know if anyone can help i am having problems with my laptop it keeps chucking me out of the internet i have tried to install my disc and gets so far through then says check all your connections are fixed secure and your modem is not on stand by done all that then eventually get back into the internet and on this site i can get to main site but not to forums i am using my daughters main computer at the moment but wondered if anyone has any suggestions my laptop has been doing this last week but the last two days have been a nightmare to even get onto a site there is no immediate area problem as i have checked but there is an area problem in the next postcode are but as my daughters computer works this seems strange if that was the problem? :mad: as you can see im pretty fed up now as ive spent most the day trying to sort it out

I assume your laptop connects to the internet via a wireless router? if so, try going into the router settings and changing the wireless channel0
