Car Hire Rip off Spain

I've looking to hire a Zafira From Malaga Airport in the summer for 11 days.
Found a few companys that people have used on MSE.
ie: doyouspain.com ,malagacar.com,goldcar.com and a few more
They Quote in GBP and EURO ,If you convert the Euro price in to £ its around £50 more than the quoted £ price .As you Pay when you pick up the car you pay in Euro's so pay £50 more
Here's a quote from one of them for a Zafira 23/7/08 - 3/8/08

Carjet seems Ok and have used them before
I'm still waitinf the other carhire company to responed about there false prices

Thanks for that - I've just checked my booking with doYouSpain which came out at 139 euros and they converted to £93 but if you use today's euro converter it actually comes to £110. Only £17 difference but it means you're not getting a correct comparison. Carjet now comes out cheaper. I think I'll get in touch with DoYouSpain and ask them how they work it out.

Got a reply from 2 of them today.The correct price is euro's so for my Zafira hire i would be looking at paying £50-60 extra.They blamed the changing exchange rate but it doesn't change that much

I use Carjet, have hired with them lots of times and so have my parents, I find them very good.

I would agree, never had a problem with price, vehicle or agent and have and do use them 4 to 5 times a year.

Last year a pound was about 1.40 euros, this year it's nearer 1.20 so that's quite a difference.

If you hire with Auto Europe, you pay up front but the price is fixed in sterling.

And there is 8.5% cashback with Quidco.

However, the moral of this thread is always check the T&Cs! And don't compare sterling prices if you're gonna pay in Euros!

Unfortunately it HAS changed that much - haven't you noticed the falling pound? The problem is they probably haven't updated the web site in 6 months.....

check avis codes in the discount thread. one gives 40% off and I use it all the time. before this I used centauro.net they were very good and operate out Malaga on the lower floor.
