If you book in advance online you can get cheaper fares, much the same as here. For Paris - Nevers the cheapest is £13.50 each way. The regular fare is £24 each way - maybe more on a fast train. Don't know how far ahead they come out

I booked at 1 am friday morning and just managed to get the last 2 £26 Brussels-Amsterdam smilys fares for the weekend we need.
We have 2 free eurostar tickets St Pancras-Brussels as a result of taking part in the track testing in december,then onto Amsterdam for our 2 nights in the Hilton courtesy of Tesco clubcard.Only other expence is a night in Brussels before returning,but that is quite a cheap city to stay in.0
