stardrops - saving 10p to spend £££s

i have done a stupid thing. Let this be a warning to you!

In true OS style I spent Easter Sat dying work clothes back to the black they once were. New lkease of life, really chuffed with myself. The £10 I spent on dye is not begrudged.

But AFTER you've dyed clothes in the wash machine you have to run it empty, with detergent, to clean it. Which iswhen I got stupid with the moneuy saving thing. A good squirt of stardrops is all I need, I thought...

I've had to mop the kitchen fllor of suds. I've had to run the WM to once, not twice but 3 times more.

The 10p of washing powder I saved must have cost me pounds in electric. Anda lot of stress.

Ladies & gentlemen. A good squirt of the magic yellow liquid in your WM is a bad idea. Learn from me.

Anything which makes big bubbles is usually a bad idea to use in the WM or toilets. I remember a 'man' where I used to work couldn't find toilet cleaner so sloshed in some washing up liquid, after that he was known as 'bubbles' especially after thinking it'd help to keep flushing it repeatedly....floors were just covered in bubbles....
One day I might be more organised...........

My friend Janice put washing up liquid in the washing machine once. It was like a Monty Python sketch. My cousins and I were only young at the time, so we thought it was hilarious.

    You're right lil_me, it's definitely a "don't try this at home" experience.

I have used washing liquid in the washing machine (when desperate) but if you imagine how much suds you get in a sinkful of water from one little squirt!!!!! quite easy to end up drowning in bubbles.

definatley quote on the dishwasher. I did this when ran out of tabs, thought a little squirt would not hurt, until bubbles started coming out my DW. However, in regards to the wm I have been known to put a small squirt in now & again to help with stubborn stains.
