I bought some at my local nursery the other week, only to find Sainsbury's has packs of Sankey seed trays (good quality, rigid ones, not the cheap, disposable green kind) at 99p for three.
I haven't seen any good ones cheaper locally.0 -

I was about to post the same advice until I read your post
Don't forget all those deep plastic boxes they sell plums/nectarines etc in which have drainage holes already in them, as well as the numerous plastic trays the supermarket insist on using to package meat/fruit/veg etc.
Recycling at it's best!!!! :T“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Bottoms cut from 2ltr pop bottles work well, and the top half can be used with the lid on as a cloche. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Yes, I like the soft fruit ones. The ones with holes on the side are useful to check how damp the compost is at depth and to let any excess out.
The rigid clear plastic ones used for grapes at (49p at Aldi) are good. Really well designed for sowing in - ready made drainage holes, clear attached cover to keep heat in like a mini cloche, clear so you can see how the roots are developing, just about the right size to discourage sowing too many seeds at a time, when not is use they stack inside each other, and they fit neatly in a bread tray (allegedly) when you want to carry loads around at once.0 -
