Suggestion what you could do now to address your problem:

Write to them asking why a search has been made on your file. Tell them if an application has been submitted for a financial product tell them your details are being used to obtain that product and it wasn't you who submitted an application.

Ask them to send you copies of all documentation, i.e. application forms and supporting information etc.

Tell them if they are unable to send you details immediately you'd like a written acknowledgement and you're awaiting their full reply.

no keeping my nose keen as im sorting out a mortgage not applied for anything when i contacted them they said they have no record of my name so god knows wats going off it was the car financing dept which made the enquiry
