Barclaycard - billing & payment due dates

I am a Barclaycard customer for more than 10 years now and have always paid in full on the date. I noticed that they've recently changed billing date and also brought my payment date forward (20 days from the billing date). This means I get lesser days of interest free credit.

Their customer services told me that this change has affected *all* Barclaycard holders and they have notified the customers about it.

I have received no communication from Barclaycard, has anyone else heard about it?

I wasn't given any fore warning before this happened either, but assume because I pay it off in full they want my money quicker now to bolster their coffers. Annoying not to have longer interest free I agree, but that is the way it is and we have to accept what we are given or go elsewhere I suppose, which may not be any better with the current crunch. We still get to buy something and not pay for it straight away, so can't complain really, and that is how I now look at it after being on MSE for a few months, and feel grateful to Barclaycard that my money is able to get some interest in my BS before going out each month to pay them for what I have bought a month earlier. :A

Paying in full and not getting cashback or rewards? How peculiar :)

Why not get a 0% purchase card like HSBC's, repay the minimum by direct debit while it's 0%, put the rest into a high interest instant access savings account like Kaupthing Edge (6.5% APR) and earn some interest on the money. Pay off the card at the end of the 0% period and count the money you've made.
