That is true. However I would also want to be made aware that they will increase the premium once the test was passed. It would be too late if I took out a policy and only found out later.
Of course
I can only speak from personal experience.
My nephew got by far & away the cheapest quote from them AFTER he had just passed his test.0 -

I can only speak from experience too. My sons are 21 and 23 and in the 6 years since I have helped them arrange insurance Quinn has never been the cheapest for them.
I have found Norwich Union, CIS, More Than and Elephant to be always good for their circumstances. Norwich Union hasn't been good recently.
There are so many factors that it's very difficult to recommend one company as what is best for one is worst for another.
Best thing to do initially is use the comparison sites first to get an idea and then look further at the best ones from that list.0 -
Unfortunately, I think that even getting up front quotes for "pre-passing test" and "post-passing test" isn't safe, as insurers can make up any amount they want for the impact of changing circumstances on your policy, given that you can't realistically cancel.0

get him to do his pass plus course £120 but insurance companies will give 30% off for this.0

Thanks to everyone for all the replies. As I said at the begining of this thread, this is my first posting. I find this site absolutely amazing and brilliant - so many other people offering good advice in such a short time. I have taken on board everything that has been said and will decide what to do over the next month or so, when my son will be coming up to his 17th birthday. Any resulting experiences I have that are worth sharing will be posted on this site.0

Best we all don't drive then, if car insurance is such a risky business:rolleyes:0
