How long between everyone signing a contract to everyone xchanging

everyone is nearing the end of the line in the buying process and everyone is signing their contract next week. on average, how long until formal exchange?

Comments

  • It varies, most exchanges are done on the phone now, it can be done on the same day but if it's a long chain it can take a few days. Your solicitor should give you some idea when you go to sign the contract.

3 months?? dont you mean 3 months for everything
  • Sorry I misread your query.

It will take 3 months in general for everything from the property being taken off the market to exchanging.

Do you mean from exchanging contracts to moving in (i.e completing)?

This will usually be 1 week.
