Hi
I hope somebody can help me with this because I am tearing my hair out!!
I have downloaded the trial version of Visual Studio 2008 Pro Edition from the Microsoft website, it has downloaded in an .ISO form, which until yesterday I hadn't even heard of!
Anyway I downloaded PowerIso but I cannot figure out how to install Visual Studio using this program?? Can anybody walk me through this step by step? I'd be soooo grateful!
Thanks

An ISO is basically a CD or DVD image. You're meant to burn it to disc first and then install from the burned disc. Just use whatever disc burning software you have. I personally use Nero.
I've got the full version of VS 2008 Pro and I'm having a go learning it. It's quite a steep learning curve (if you've never used anything like it before) so just wondering why you're wanting you use it (if you hadn't heard of .iso files). Not trying to be condescending just making sure you know what it's for."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

My brother has just started programming, just teaching himself and it sounds quite interesting, he's been dabbling in this kind of thing for a while so he gets it a lot more than I do.
I am usually quite good at things like this but I just can't get my head around this iso malarky! I'm more of a web developer to be honest but thought i'd try my hand at this...if I don't get it i'll go back to websites!
Thanks for your reply, I'll give that a go... Think happy & you'll be happy

If you have a virtual drive program like Alcohol you can point it to the ISO and it will open like a CD/DVD.0

unless you pay for PowerISO or have a cracked copy, you'll be restricted to 300mb, nowhere near enough for most apps. i use Virtual CloneDrive (use link at the bottom to go to download page). It's freeware snd "adds" another drive to your computer so you can run an ISO file as if the CD was in your drive.

Hi thanks for you replies...I finally did it, it was so simple as well I could kick myself! I mounted it but then didn't think to actually go to my computer and open it like you would a CD/DVD....it's been a long day! Anyhoo it's installing as we speak.
Thanks again guys x:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
