Cheap PC help

My only experience of buying a used PC was not great. It was from a company that sold seond hand PCs. After a few months it started to slow down and eventually had problems. And it doesn't cost that much more to buy new. I'd go for new if you can.0

Try www.mcscom.co.uk. Look at their MCS Reconditioned Dell equipment. It's incredibly well priced and still comes with warranty in most cases.0

No way I would spend £170 on a reconditioned unit with only a 3 month warranty when I can buy a new one from nsysonline for a similar price. Just goes to show how technology has moved on - how on earth do they keep up with it all!
I was going to buy an 8800GT graphics card, but by the time I had decided to get it, it had been superceeded!!0 -
I thought the big pockets deal was a bargain, you can upgrade the warranty to a year for £30, i couldnt find anything on nsyson under £500 for similar spec. The operating system has gotta be worth £70 alone
Maybe someone can show me the link for similar spec and similar price on nsyson.
off to bed now but will check in the morning cos i'm in the market for one.

I have enough trouble keeping track of company pension legislation let alone CPU formats and drawing comparisons between them! But I have done a bit of digging.
The processors at the heart of the Big Pock machines are all obsolete - I mean really old. So when they say they are sold "As New" it means secondhand, a fact we have already concluded above
So when comparing prices, its important to compare like with like. I used the charts here and here. Its clear that the modern processors knock spots off the old ones despite lower Ghz speeds - even the cheapest ones - pretty amazing.
So the point I was making is that I personally would prefer to spend a little more and buy a new system. Apparently nsys include the original Windows CDs, not recovery disc which may have a bearing on the price. Here are a couple that I have compared and given that they are new ( and start from £119 !) its what I would go for:-
Cheap Intel PC and Cheap AMD PC
If price is a major factor, then there are free operating systems such as Ubuntu which you can install and don't forget Open Office which is a free "MS Office" equivalent package. But if you are strapped for cash, then the second hand units seem an option too... they have their place, but buy too cheap and you buy twice!0
