  • I have had my card for over a year and have given up trying to access it online as I can never get on since it was taken over by Santender but it was so easy and smooth before. This is a key reason why I would use this card as my last option.

I have never used the card and never will until they sort out the online account system. Their loss, not mine.

I got my new abbey credit card about 10 days ago. after i got i phoned them to add this credit card with my other abbey accounts on my online account. But, they told that Credit card access online is different from current/saving accounts. So, after giving them my credit card details by phone, they registered my card for online access and given me a internet Id and, told me that i will receive a password with in 14 days. so, now i am waiting for the password. So, Spark i think you have to call Abbey Credit Card dept.

    Good Luck

If you want to have a credit card, current account and savings accounts all available on one site, I have found Halifax to be good for being able to add accounts.

amizaki, I did all you are doing now a few months ago, and the day I did register online for online access to my credit card account, I did arrive to go through once. Since then, I have found impossible to reach my online account. There is something wrong with their system, and it looks like they are not trying very hard to find a remedy to it. Following my previous dealings with their call center, calling them won't do any good in my opinion.
I am trying to find out if any of the people who have the new Abbey/Santander credit card have arrived to log into their online credit card account to see if the problem is on my side or theirs.

I have the Abbey credit card and once the user name and password arrived (I had to call them up a few times to get this) I can now log on and use it with no problems.

If you are having problems then I would call them up again as it should work fine.

The question I'd be asking is, with a company as inept as Abbey/Santander, could they be trusted to sort out a major problem such as someone cloning your card or a fraudulent debit?

Their name comes up in problem stories here and in newspapers again and again. I've never had a problem with any of the dozens of banks and BS I've used in the past but Abbey have the ability to screw up everything they touch. I'm now in the slow process of closing all my accounts with them and will keep well away in future.
