Just found this on t'internet. My son updated i-tunes this week, it's the only one I'll let him do without asking me and first I know of it, safari is sat in my new programs.
It does seem a bit sneaky..anyway, just posting this to make other's aware that they'll need to remove the tick or tell their kids if they're the ones doing it if you don't want safari.

I unchecked the box when I was asked to download the update earlier this week, mainly because I had never heard of it so didn't know if it was a genuine Apple product. What happens if you do download it - does it become the default browser instead if IE? Is it any good? Are we going to be offered it every time there's an itunes update available? Thanks for any advice.0

once installed it asks you to select settings as any other browser. so u either have it as default or just another browser u can use.I unchecked the box when I was asked to download the update earlier this week, mainly because I had never heard of it so didn't know if it was a genuine Apple product. Safari is the default Apple browser and I get on with it fine.
