Replcement Door casings & linings

Could anyone let me know how much I should expect to pay a carpenter / joiner to replace my internal door casings / linings. I have a 1930's semi and the existing woodwork is heavily chipped and overpainted.
I live in the Stockport area and wondered whether anyone could recommend a good local carpenter / joiner.

    Hi,
I have had a quote for replacing internal casings & linings for three internal doors and hanging new doors together with fitting about 5m of skirting.
    £600 total.

    Is this a reasonable price?

Does that include the chippie buying the doors, furniture and linings or are you supplying them - and if so what cost/type of door?

For cheap doors they're about £25 a door to buy and about £25 - £30 each to hang.
It should take no more than a day to rip out the old linings and skirting (why not do that yourself?) and refit new, then your £30 or so to hang each door. So based on that, I would say that quote is a bit dear. Bear in mind I havn't seen it but I would have thought £450 was nearer the mark.

    UKwoody,
    Thanks for your reply.
The quote is based upon me supplying just the doors and handles. The split is roughly £400 labour and £200 materials I am told.

£200 for materials is over the top if it's only the door linings, door stop, architrave and skirting. That should be about £70 tops.
