Just had an e-mail from Tesco. Lord of the Rings Trilogy set is reduced from £49.99 to £14.99. Offer ends at the end of today.

    This is the original non extended edition. Not a bad deal though. Seems to be the cheapest! :)

    Appears to be the standard editions of the films....just in case

    For a start you get 4 discs instead of 2. Lots of extra features. I don't know if the standard versions have this, but in the extended ones all the deleted scenes are put back into the film as was originally intended.

    It says there are six discs in the box set. Or do you mean 4 discs per film? In which case, why on earth does one film need 4 discs? do people actually watch all the extras?!

    4 discs per film. I bought each extended edition seperately and have in total 12 discs. The films on their own take up 2 discs per film and then there are another 2 discs of extras per film

    I've got the ultra extended version: 24 discs, 2 new films on last 6 discs, box in the shape of the ring, a ceremonial sword and a free hobbit. He lives in my shed.
