Can I just ask for advice? Lady in 80s living alone. V low use of phone but does phone Austaralia once a fortnight and can be on for an hour.
Wants to change to provider which allows direct debit payment. She is about to move to BT but I was wondering if here was anything more suitable for her.
Thanks

What reason has she given for changing from BT as she can pay her bill with them monthly by dd? Best advice for phoning Oz is to sign up to 18185 and it would be 1p per minute with a 5p connection charge and no limit to length of call apart from the 1p per minute charge of course.0

I use BT for line rental and 18185 for calls and we phone Australia regularly too. 18185 send bills etc. by e-mail and take the money by monthly DD, so she'd need an e-mail account, but other than that she just needs to dial 18185 before the number. You might want to get her an Orchid dialler to save her having to remember to enter the access code if she's on the forgetful side.
The OP said she was changing to BT, not from, Edinburghlass.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0
