wanna Makro card

I run a small business and use Makro for odds and ends but they are definately not worth travelling to, pop in if you are close or do not bother

We regularly receive there offer mags but when you turn up at the store they often have either not arrived in stock or have all been sold, doe not sound like they stock a lot of anything

Please bear in mind they are a business, they want you to buy so they will have special offers to tempt you in and then sell you things that are often cheaper in the supermarkets, soap powder etc. Please be careful and remeber all those money saving skills

On the plus side I bought a sattelaite navigation gizmo from them for £199.00 plus VAT that I could not find any cheaper than £399.00 inc VAT on the internet. I regularly travel to the West Midlands and this shaved twnety miles off the journey so it will pay for itself eventually. Many will say that a good map will do the same but when road works closed the A507 recently just driving slightly off route caused it to reaarange the route and it got me home, no struggling with maps in the dark

Dont worry too much about it, the message gets there. Im the same, spelling is realy bad, i have a thick dictionary for all those harder ones :rotfl: (Even then I dont get it right)


I throught to join Makro's you needed all kinds of paperwork to show that you are a business or a member of a business and not just a business card?

When we got our card I applied on "business" headed paper (word comes in handy) and supplied a reciept made out to the business (a B&Q one for a boiler done in this case) I dont think they check to deep as to if you really are a bona fide business

As to if they are worth it, only if you have one on your doorstep. You have to take a calculator with you to check the prices as often once the VAT is added you can be paying more then sainsburys (and thats not easy ).

As for the "special offers" well what can I say They had a phone hubby wanted a while ago, down to silly money and they couldnt be got anywhere on the high street at the time. Off he goes at 6.30am to get a phone. Gets there and theres maybe 50 in the queue. So he walks to the front to ask if they have actually got any and they had had 6 delivered and the last one was being sold there and then with no more coming in
