Chocolate cake for diabetics

Hi I wonder if anyone can help please?
I made a chocolate cake for one of my colleagues at work but there was another colleague who is diabetic and couldn't eat it.
If I substitute sugar with canderel do you think the taste will change a lot?what do you think I should substitute icing sugar with?or does anyone have any other ideas to decorate (the guy doesn't like fruit that much either)
