IKEA Sofa's

Are they any good? Seen some nice leather ones but in the past have been told that Ikea sofa’s and bed mattresses aren’t very good and don’t last too well. Anyone got any experience or advice?

  • I have an ikea fabric sofa and it is really comfortable BUT I wouldn't buy another as the cushions constantly fall off and the covers move and it looked ancient after a few months. Complained and they even sent someone to look but they said it was fine and we should plump it up every day to avoid it - suffice to say they couldn't care less!! and it wasn't even that cheap.....
  • I had IKEA make me Anneberg bed-sofa made when I was living in Germany, and it's still going strong 8 years later. Obviously the main seat cushions are a little softer than they were originally, but still very comfortable. I've never tried cleaning it(apart from the odd spot clean), and as it's a patterned fabric it still looks good. Would definitely buy again from IKEA.

Have their leather sofa-bed for 3.5 years. No complaints - either from me or from my guests ...

I've had my EKTORP sofas for just over a year and am quite please with them. Cushions sag a little but they are very sturdy, solid and comfortable. Covers are washable and easy to take off / replace. I would recommend, as would my mother and sister, who have also purchased these.

I think you get what you pay for at Ikea.
I've had sofa's off them ages ago and when I complained about them sagging they just sent me another one (that was fourteen years ago though!)

I was once told by an Ikea delivery driver, that they have loads of returns, as they seem to break in two!! Put me off getting one!!

  • I've got an ikea sofa, and when it did break, (due to me falling on it with my OH in my arms) they replaced it free of charge.
