Liverpool Airport - Fast Lane Security?

We're flying out to France from Liverpool Airport with lovely Ryanair next week.
Just noticed on the L'pool website that you can pay £2 to skip the queues for security via Fast Lane.
I don't think I want to shell out, but my DH thinks it might be worth it.
Has anyone used it? Views and advice welcome as always:D .

Are the queues really that bad? This seems like a bit of a pointless exercise to me (unless maybe you do it for your own sanity if you have small children that would have a tantrum whilst queueing).
What do you achieve by parting with £2 each - your plane isn't going to takeoff any earlier is it?0 -
When we flew out from liverpool last year hardly anyone was paying the extra to use the "fast lane". We didn't pay and didn't have to queu long for the normal lane.0

You can pay at the airport if you're running late.
The last time I flew out of Liverpool there were only three people ahead of me at regular security; the time before that the fast lane queue was as long as the regular one and we all barely made our flights.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Last time i used liverpool the queues were massive and it took ages to get through security. Last week i was booking some parking there for my next trip and i thought what the hell for two quid its probably worth it.Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0

Don't bother... you can pay at a machine at the airport if you need to... never had to wait more than 1 minute to get through security at Liverpool...

Yes, they have set up the website in a very canny way - a lot of people will think that it's only £2 when you've already spent ££££ on flights, priority boarding, the privilege of taking luggage, parking, etc etc.
But the airport must be minting it even if only a small proportion of its 4.5 million passengers a year opt for Fast Lane.
Good to know it's do-able on the day if the queues get too much for our DS. Thanks everyone :T ."Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm" (Sir Winston Churchill)0 -
Hiya - I use liverpool a lot and have only paid for the fast lane twice - bith times when a masive "normal" queue - but normally the queing is fine so just wait till you get there to decide, theres machines there for you to pay for your ticket if u need it.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I was hoping to seek advice from the people who use Liverpool airport a lot. We're flying out at 9.35 am on Monday 31 March and travelling over from Leeds. I know it's very difficult to say but we were thinking of setting off at about 6.00 am. do you think this will allow adequate time? Thanks0

Used it last year when I saw the regular queue was huge, the £2 got through a bit quicker but once we went down the stairs there was still a huge queue! Juat see whats its like when you arrive but dont pre book.0

As others have said, don't pre-book, just see what the normal queue is like when you get there.
We flew from Liverpool 2 weeks ago and there was no queue at all. When we went from there last August, the queue was huge so we paid the £2, which was well worth it.0
