Halifax ShareBuilder - How do you use yours??

Have just signed up for the Halifax ShareBuilder account. I'm quite looking forward to dabbling in shares.
To begin with I'll be putting say £25 a month into the account although will increase this over time.
I was just wondering how you guys use your ShareBuilder accounts (if you have them).
Do you wait for a few months for the account to build up a bit or do you trade each month with whatever you've got in the account?
Is there a recommended website for doing share research?

i usually have about 3 companies that i drip feed money into. You can look at the top 10 investments, so you can see what is quite popular with other investors.0

i have one and use it for relatively illiquid investment trusts and other items whose price isn't going to fluctuate wildly... cos u don't really have much control over the price at which you buy.
also, i would be cautious... cos although it is commission free at the moment, it reverts to £1.50 for each purchase from June onwards... that equates to 6% of your £25 each time which is going to seriously erode potential returns...0 -
I would not look at the top-10 investments.....the rational is this...if its known on the high street it is already lost its appeal and making lots of money for you inturn....research is key.....annual reports and mid term reports.....they are what you need - look at an area that interests you and focus on their balance sheets....happy reading!0
