Hi-I am new to the forums-so sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
Our kitchen units are starting to fall to bits but we need to upgrade on the cheap.
Our old kitchen is magnet-some of the units are ok and we could hang onto them, so we have wondered about using one of the door replacement firms and then just buying the units that we need. Although open to other options too.
Can anyone recommend particular units/doors.
They need to be robust because of the kids and cheap!
Thanks lots

Well B&Q sell everything separately these days - so you could buy some doors and some units - although like most of the big multiples they seem to mess up the deliveries fairly frequently.
Wickes have a better reputation - but that could just be because they're not as big - and I don't think they'd sell you just the doors.
IKEA are cheap - but they don't use standard UK sizes - so no good for existing units.
You could also try some of the online suppliers - if you can sort out your own fitting. Two that seem to have a reasonable reputation are:

They both use the same make of doors - but will provide their own carcasses. Haven't tried them myself, though.I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0

Umm.. do you cover every where and how come you haven't posted before or are you a spammer?Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!0

We have just recently revamped our kitchen "on the cheap" We used existing carcasses and bought lovely doors from B&Q. They had 50% off and then a further 15% so doors were a bargain at 5.09 each and then handles were £7 a pair..the difference is amazing...worktop was just under £20 per 3m length from our local no frill s before it closed down and retails for £60 in our local diy store.
now we will add a unit per month to complete itChoose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. ~Confucius0
