Banks

Why are banks so useless?
I went in to LloydsTSB to start an ISA and was seen by a very smart young man who tapped away on his computer keyboard for a few minutes and then went out of the room saying he'd be right back. I new what was coming and on his return he said he'd arranged for the financial advisor to see me. I told him that it wasn't necessary as I new exactly what I wanted and we completed the transfer forms. The following day I got a call to say that I'd been given the wrong forms.
My daughter wanted the deeds to her house which are held by Barclays. She arranged for the deeds to be delivered to her local branch.
Come the day she calls to collect the deeds and is told the branch 'don't know anything about it'. What is more there is no offer of assistance in sorting the problem from the staff except 'you can use our phone'.
The sooner immigrants move into the financial sector the better, maybe then we'll get some decent service.
Named after my cat, picture coming shortly

Lloyds offering the financial advisor are just seeing an opening for a sale for their branch and could of given you something you may of thanked them for If for example you had no plans for your funds, they had allowed you to walk out and not offered you a better option for interest on your money and you found out at a later date you would soon be complaining that nobody approached you. ;)

Barclays deeds are held in a product called Barclaysafe, when your daughter called to ask to collect this from the branch she would of called the office that holds the details for them and they would forward it to the branch, it would of been their fault if the branch was not advised or the envelope was not there for collection. They probably advised your daughter to call as she would need to give them details of the request but should of explained this, if somebody in the banking hall had been free they should of offered to put the call through for her but if she saw a cashier then they would not be able to pass the call over from behind the glass if they wanted to talk to your daughter.

The reason banks are so useless is because they are running under staffed. If you want to make a change then complain, the staff would probably thank you for it....if you complain to the right people.
