Is there a way to save USB?

Hopefully someone can help me.
Just discovered that my memory stick has got bashed - duly took it to PC World who said they could fix it, then they couldn't as the machine that would take the info off it didn't have a USB port.
When it's in the house pc or laptop they don't even recognise that it is in. Is there anywhere that could fix this problem or can I do anything?

sounds busted to me. If there is something VERY important on it, i dare say a professional data recovery service could get it back. Else, with the price of them these days they're almost becoming disposable. You can get a new 1GB for about £5 online:

The connector broken off? I have repaired these before, or is the circuit board in half? If you can get an identical unit swap over the flash ram chips. It can be done.0

as said if its just the connector its a fairly simple soldering job0

wouldn't trust pc world to do this for you - especially if they can't work out if they need/have usb0

Equally I wouldn't trust PC World to give any good advice.
If it's not physically broken try using the free recovery tool: http://www.recuva.com/
If it is physically damaged, then it might be a simply soldering repair, or it might need data recovery, which can be very expensive...0
