Help needed with card reader

Have put a usb card reader into my desktop with a 2gb sandisk memory card in it. It's coming up on my computer as 'removable drive e'. When I click on format nothing happens and when I try to go into it, it says 'please insert disc into drive e'. What am I doing wrong?

Also, ive managed to get the memory card stuck in the reader, any ideas how to get it out?

I dont think it is, the sandisk logo is facing up and the arrow is pointing in the right direction .. .

Hi Wolfsbayne,

have you tried pushing the card further in to get it out? Sounds crazy but some card readers are "sprung loaded" meaning the card goes in flush and when pushed it is sprung back out by the reader, like the control panels on older TV's used to do.

Is it just a single card reader? When I plug my 23-in-1 card reader in I get 5 different removable drivers. 4 of them will tell me to insert disk, but when I click on the correct one I can browse my memory card.

Ive pushed it in as far as it will go (too far I think) and no spring so well and truly jammed :-(

It's a single card reader that came with my dstt. Ive been told it should be as simple as plugging it in and its there but something is going wrong somewhere. Ive tried restarting my computer, etc but nothing seems to work.
