My motorbike has some gunge in its virtually empty fuel tank. This includes some old two stroke oil.

What liquid is best and safest to clean out such a tank?

Thanks.

    try 'clutch&break'cleaning fluid

or Acetone,,if using Acetone ensure you dont drip any on the paint

let the liquid you use soak for a while

then rinse out with neat petrol

diesel,if you leave the diesel in it over night it should free off all the gunge, then clean out with some petrol and it should be fine.
or clean it out with some WD40 then dry it out with brake cleaner, this is usally fast at evaporating so it wont mix with your petrol.
