Telogram letter?

I have just received a letter today addressed to my maiden name - i married 2 years ago - from a company called Telogram asking me to confirjm my current address for a company called CapQuest who have a file on me. The address they have tracked me from, I have never lived in, nor applied for credit from. However a family member did live there several years ago. I have searched for this company on the forums and have come up with a few results where people have had similar letters trying to get them to confirm their id. the general advice seemed to be to ignore the letter, but i don't know whether to ignore or to call them and tell them i never lived there or had any credit there in case they pursue me with someone else's debt or try to pursue my family member for an old debt.
i am worried tho, as I am in the middle of a mortgage application with my dh and we have both got good credit, i checked my experian report a few months ago and had no outstanding payments on my record.
Can anyone advise?

Crapquest are one of the less favourite DCAs here and may well be sending fishing letters to everyone with the same surname. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Thats ok its a company called capquest and they are fishing , this letter is a trap and is actually fraud. they do not tell you what they want you to call about and use the fact that telogram to make people ring then they have your full name and contact details and you have just proved to them where you live which means they can then start sending you proper letters.
I recieved this over two years ago before i found this site and then the letters were coming in every day from capquest i sought proffesional advice who stopped them sending letters straight away and got the debt sold back to the company it was originally with so that they had to stop pestering me .

THEY CANT THEY HAVE to prove you owe the debt . you do not have to prove you don't
they cannot come for you they do not know where you live this letter will be sent to everyone who has similar names they wait for some guillible sheep to ring them and then they pounce.
Trust me they are in the wrong not you .
You do not owe them a penny at the moment the letter does not tell you that you owe any money so you do not .

They are breaking OFT guidelines by sending out letters to people who do not owe them a debt.
What they are hoping is that some poor sucker will ring up and either say, This is not me, this is where my relative used to live. Oh really, where do they live now? So then either you tell them and risk getting it in the neck from your relative or they will decide to keep writing to you to see if they can put pressure on the relative that way.
Added to which they are sailing close to the wind in terms of disclosing to you that your relative may have an unpaid debt. Bearing in mnd that from what you say, this debt is quite possibly statute barred and therefore unenforceable, that is pretty cheap.
They cannot put anythig on your credit file until they prove you owe the debt. You do not, so stop worrying. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
