British Gas Cold call cobblers

I was cold called by BG last night and after asking who I was with said they would definitely save me money if I switched to their tariffs. I got all the detail of the tariffs and discounts and re-checked them on the BG website this morning.

Guess what -

They would actually be £ 140 - £ 170 pound more expensive.

It really annoys me that people can get away with giving out such false information.

I had quite a funny experience with BG a month or 2 ago -
I was working at the front of the house and a stranger came up and said ‘Hello, we’ve been missing you’ I looked at the guy again a bit more carefully but still didn’t recognise him.
Oh’ he said, ‘I’m from BG and you left us several years ago, who are you with now?’
I said, ‘Ebico’
He said, "We can never match there prices - don’t believe anyone who says we can".
I thanked him for his honesty and he left me with a smile on my face.
