Was wondering if anyone had been yet? What did you think? Was it worth the money (will be using Tesco vouchers, so not parting with hard cash!). Will probably take a picnic, but any other money saving ideas/hints welcome.
DS is a Thomas mad 4 1/2 yr old, also have DD - 5 1/2 and a 8wk old who is no trouble at all!
Thanks

At these ages as long as they see Thomas they will think it's amazing no matter how good (or bad) it is.
I have a 5 y/o who is begging us to take him since seeing the adverts on TV.0 -
it's fab :T
we went 6 days ago and my 2 year old has been begging me to take him back.
we went on one of the 'term time' days so it only cost £14 for adult+toddler. toddlers are free anyway, and there are bogof vouchers on kelloggs packets too (free adult or child).
cranky the crane had a height min of a metre i think. the rollercoaster (troublesome trucks) was minimum 90cm. most rides allow the parents on with the child. the new play aprk is really good too, walk through the zoo or catch the thomas train. there was a huge queue for the thomas train in thomas land but no queue for ride back, so you could walk through the zoo and then get the train back.
the shop is expensive - full price thomas merchandise. nip in and buy a flag for 99p when little one isn't looking, or some bubbles at £2.'bad mothers club' member 13

Thanks for the tips Carmina. Did you notice if there was anywhere undercover to eat a picnic? Would prefer to take one, but can't count on the weather - nothing worse than freezing cold kiddies moaning whilst eating outside! ThanksNow proud Mumto3 :j0

there are new coffee bar type picnic shelters but they are next to the coffee shops and have notices up about eating stuff you haven't bought at the park, saying 'please do not offend'
we ate our picnic there anyway! the one near the zoo was less busy.
i have often eaten in the pirate bar too, it's a bit like mcdonalds. the staff haven't complained, but i suppose we do buy something, maybe just a coffee or a packet of chips.
i can't remember the rest, because we were cheeky and ate in the coffee bar's shelter.'bad mothers club' member 13

Glad to hear you + DS enjoyed it Carmina.
Have been thinking of going on a term time trip since DS picked up a leaflet in the motorway services last week. Glad to hear it's not a washout, some of these things can be so overhyped!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

the thomas train ride (actual train journey as opposed to a roller coaster) has a thomas engine and it um, does whatever they call it when the engine goes along a different bit of track to pull the carriages from the other way around. so that's a bit of a show. there's a man dressed as fat controller who says hello to children. there's a bridge you can walk over to wave as the train goes underneath. it's all very sweet and really quite special for little thomas fans
drayton list their termtimes on the website, so if yours is under 4 you can get an adult and toddler in for £14.
an alternative to tesco vouchers might be the zoo bogof tickets on kelloggs cereal boxes at the moment.'bad mothers club' member 13
