Can i change home insurers if i have unresolved claims on my existing policy?

simple question? But i do not know the answer. Existing insurer sent me a quote and it seems to be a bit steep.

you would have to declare that you have the unresolved claim, and you may also find it easier to go direct to other companies rather than through the comparison sites.
