Run scandisk. Fat32 is awful for misreporting the amount of free drivespace. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

cheers.it takes a day or so if i remember rightly to scandisk so i'll do it when i get the chance.0

Shouldn't take that long, but I guess it depends on the hardware. Defragging can take ages, if that's what you're thinking of.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

For the AVG problem, check if your AVG update folder is set to Read-only:
AVG update folder* --> right click on folder --> Properties --> Untick 'Read-only' --> OK
That's been reported as a fix for the 'insufficient disc space or insufficient user rights' error in AVG. It may not work for you but it's worth giving it a go.
*check the following locations:
C:\Windows\Profiles\<user>\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data
C:\Windows\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7DataThe true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -
went into the AVG folder but there isn't an update folder0

Where did you check? C:/Program Files/Grisoft/AVG...? It won't be there.
The Avg7Data folder should be in one of these locations:
C:\Windows\Profiles\<user>\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data
C:\Windows\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7DataThe true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -
