does goldfish search experian or equifax, who owns them now

Has anybody recently applied for a goldfish card, I would like to know which credit agency they used for the search as my record with experian is better than equifax ( thought someone might have noticed on their reports which agency the search went through). does anybody know who owns them now ?

Morgan Stanley demerged their cards business as Discover Financial Services. Discover recently decided to pull out of the UK and sold Goldfish to Barclays.

TBH, I think you're on a hiding to nothing. IME, Experian is used most, but the same lenders sometimes use either or both of the two main agencies.

Fortunately, there are ways to improve your chances of acceptance. For tips, I would have a look at the *Credit Rating* articles on the main site, in particular, Martin's *Manage and Improve your Credit Score* article, before you submit your next credit card application

why do some us both ?? Is it safer for them if they use both sort of a double checkup and those that use just 1 are they being more lenient towards the applicants??

on this list below, some dont even have red/green mark against them so who are they using !! Nobody or
just nobody actually knows or they don't disclose the information.

Thanks for definitive answer on that one.Unless Barclays have developed the memory of a goldfish I'd best give that one a miss!

Or slightly more accurately - Discover have announced the sale of Goldfish to Barclays in early February.

Its due to complete the sale sometime before July..
