What is a 'Macro - Removing' Scart lead?

Hi

Ive been told we might need one of these as our HDD/DVD recorder is not compatable with our cable receiver.

(we just get a picture, no audio)

What are they - and where can we get one (preferably returnable if thats not the solution)

Macrovision remover - Macrovision "scrambles" a transmitted picture or even VCR/DVD movies and makes it dificult to copy the files - but is easy to circumvent. Lots of hardware come with Macrovision decrypting or they wouldn't be able to record TV.

You've been given duff info then, as sound is one thing that macrovision doesn't change!

How do you connect it all up?

What make of cable box, HD/DVD recorder and telly do you have. It will help in determining if the problem is with how you have connected it up or in the settings menu.
