getting a valuation on an old car

My husband is looking to replace his old Renault Espace and needs some idea as to its 'book value' . The problem is that Glass's guide (Is that the right name?) is only available to the trade now and the online price check sites only value cars up to four or five years old max.

Looking at similair cars in showrooms or in local papers shows a huge range in price, I know some private sellers may be being optimistic but it would certainly be useful to have a book price before either selling privately or negotiating on trade in with a garage.

Is there any way I can get to see a Glass's guide price?

CAP (another trade bible) has an older vehicle section so if you can give us details on the vehicle i'll post the price up for you.

What Car looked quite useful but unfortunately it says that our model wasn't availble in the right year which is a bit confusing.

I do think our car is of low value, I was just wondering why some sellers were asking over £1000 for a 12 year old MPV!

Becouse its a people carrier and its a work horse thats why. It will still get good money even if it is 12 years old.
Its a family car and a lot will buy it at that price to go on holidays or day trips to blackpool.
Plus its cheap at that price.
