Thanks for the phone number 08457585247 and the address posted. I worked in the office at Whitehall Rd Colchester and they are sending me a forecast. Can't believe I will be 60 in three years. Hope I get a nice surprise and can retire then! PS You will need your National Insurance number as discussed on previous postings. Good luck.:wave::bdaycake::A:A0

I do not have a normal pension entitlement with British Gas but I have a slip of paper from when I left the former West Midlands Gas circa 1975 saying to contact the Chief Accountants Dept, Wharf Lane, Solihull B91 2JP a few months before my 60th birthday to claim my (very small amount) Graduated Pension Scheme equivalent pension. Can anyone advise where to contact since this Name and Address are no longer valid.

I filled a form online for the DWP and they gave me the address for National Grid pensions. I wrote to them with a photocopy of my "leaving" form plus NI number and they were able to locate my records.
Hope this helps.0 -

Please excuse this unexpected message, I found your blog online when searching for help regarding Asbestosis claims against the Gas Board. My dear Dad passed away having suffered from Asbestosis which we believe he contracted during his time as a Gas fitter during the late 60,s and 70,s doing domestic Gas conversion jobs for the Gas board and a sub contractor. We have been advised to seek compensation through the courts and now need to find information.
We have to prove that the job he did put him at risk of exposure to Asbestos and need to speak to people who did similar work or have family members that did to understand what the working conditions were really like. Any help or advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

Given your father's occupation, it would be very unlikely that his asbestosis was not work related?
Did he have mesothelioma?

I amtrying to locate my pension provider for British Gas again, I even called the HR dept, they have a record of my employer but nothing about a pension plan, would it have been possible to work there without one? I am sure I paid into one. Have tried centrica and Standard \life0
