Life insurance with a heart murmur?

Has anyone managed to get a decent life insurance quote with an existing heart murmur?
We're currently paying £166 a month for my DH. The original quote was £56/mth but as soon as the murmur was disclosed it shot up. He's 51, a non-smoker, and the murmur is classed as "innocent" - never had any symptoms, nor needed any treatment.
Sum insured is £225k decreasing over 25 years.
Just trying to get a feel for whether we can do this more cheaply - honestly starting to think we'd be better off cancelling it and using the money to overpay on the mortgage instead!
Thanks
