Halifax unfair charge?

Hi,

I recently paid off £300 off my credit card and made me feel great, but then Halifax sent me a letter saying they were reducing my limit, which immeditaly took me overdrawn and they stuck a £12 charge on me for being over limit, even though they reduced my limit?

Can they really charge me £12, when they sent me overdrawn?

Thanks :o

Don't think they're able to reduce your credit limit below your current balance.

If they have then you should definitely call them (during normal working hours when you've more chance of speaking to a supervisor).

I'd be asking them for your credit limit to be restored to at least your current balance, the £12 to be refunded and a compensatory £ 10 (at least!) for the cost of the mobile phone call.
