Although maybe you should get some granite laminate and really save thoughs pennies.

That's what I want rid off!

Is there a second hand market for the cheap stuff, I've got a 6m length here.

We used diapol. It took three weeks from our first phone call to fitting. Quick, friendly, efficient, good value and it looks super. All boxes ticked!

Doozergirl - fantastic kitchen there! I was wondering where you got your kitchen units from?

The flooring is solid oak from Howdens. It's prefinished. I don't remember it having a name, the man in the warehouse just opened a box and showed me!

The kitchen units are Malton Oak from MFI and some are actually from Howdens when we changed the design slightly after the kitchen had arrived! The kitchens are identical - in Howdens I think it's the Hexham Oak.

NOTE if you will.. ex gf used to be kitchen saleperson for kitchen company. always always said granite is complete waste of tome in a kitchen- chips, scratches, not heat proof etc etc ie- whats the bloody point of it in a kitchen then ?! most people who afford it wanted it and paid GOOD commission so... . I wouldn't- full stop.

What are you all paying for granite these days? There seem to be some cheaper suppliers on Ebay from India compared to what people I know payed a few years ago.

Did she live with granite in her own kitchen

Recommend me something that doesn't chip, scratch, is heat resistant, looks good and is cheap? I'm not entirely sure what would tick all of those boxes. I'd have a pretty hard time trying to scratch my granite tops and I'm genuinely wondering what I'd have to do to make it chip. I assume that in a fight between a china plate and the worktop that the worktop would win!
