Courier new is good here, can read it all. Scrollable window is a bad idea IMHO. The secured and unsecured debts still not aligned here though.0

Can you see a difference between "courier" and "courier new" on your screen? They look the same to me. The calculator currently generates the forum tags to use the Courier font. What puzzles me is that the output seems different in different threads even though they all use courier.Courier new is good here, can read it all.
You're a tough customerThe secured and unsecured debts still not aligned here though.
I know they are not perfectly aligned. I can fix it but it will take some fiddly programming so it is not a 5 minute job (more technical description below for those interested).
Why do the unsecured and secured debt tables not line up properly?
You will notice that the unsecured debts table allows you to type in description, loan amount, payment and rate. I have no way of knowing whether the user will type in a 2 digit description or a 38 digit description, a 1 digit rate or a 3 digit rate with a decimal point. The same applies for payments and loan amount. That all means that I can not lay the table exactly as it should be when I code it up. The same applies to anywhere in the calculator where you click on "add another".
So how can I fix it?
After the user enters their information I need to work out the length of each description, amount, payment and rate for every debt line that is entered and pad them out so that they all line up. I have already written the code for "Add Another" expense. If you add an expense line you can see that the amount still gets lined up no matter whether your expense description is 1 character or 39. I need to do the same for everything in the debt tables. So I know how to do it, it is just going to take quite a bit of fiddly coding to do it.Author of the first Stoozing FAQ on the Internet and Creator of the SOA & Snowball calculators at Lemonfool.co.uk0 -

Courier New definitely the easiest to readNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

I'd go for Comic Sans - use it all the time as my eyesight is on the wane (age!!!) and its the clearest one. This is written in comic sans !!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:0

Can you not use tables?
That would require MSE to enable some BBCode/HTML tags that are currently not allowed on the forum.
