HSBC branches on Oxford street are always open on Sundays (no counter service though). Every automated machine you can think of exists to perform your every wish.

Abbey generally are closed on the bank holidays, and open normal hours on Saturday (as an aside I always hate Easter, as I'd get a 4 day weekend except for having to work 4 hours Sat morning!). Branches in shopping centres operate on their hours, so may be open Good Friday and Easter Monday. Sunday trading laws mean branches normally open on Sunday can't open this weekend.

This wrong. Local Northern Ireland banks close on Good Friday and Easter Monday and are open on Tuesday, and have done so for at least 25 years.

It may be possible that branches of some national banks (e.g. HSBC, Abbey, Halifax etc) are open on Good Friday - sorry can't help with this.

No - you will be charged twice, once to change €€ into ££ and again ££ to $$.

I remember from my Halifax days that the NI branches opened on Good Friday becasue they closed on St Paddy's Day. They'd open Saturday, close Sunday and Monday and back to the grind on Tuesday after Easter.

Whether or not that's the case for 2009, no idea!

Get the number from yell.com and ring the local branch?
