Short term car insurance

Hi all we need car insurance for 2-3 months, then we wish to trade in the car.

The car in question was left to us after my wifes mother passed away, It has been kept on her drive until the sale of the house which is imminent. The car was sorn off the road but this apparently ran out in January, so now we need to get it insured to tax it to move it on, before we part exchange it for another one.

Our there any companies that do a insurance per month? I've tried Norwich Union pay as you drive but don't fit the criteria (selling the car to quick)

Hi there.

Speak to your own motor insurers. They may be able to "hold covered" on both your existing vehicle and the one you want to sell for a short period. That would at least allow you to tax the car and move it.

i have insured two cars previously one was one i was keeping and the other same as you just needed to get mot and tax done to sell. think this was with direct line but i think they did it as a monthly cover note £30month but this would depend on car
