I buy for the people involved, just well in advance. My budget is quite small per person, and if I can wander into Marks and Spencer in January and buy a £45 item for £3 then someone will receive a gift they love that I otherwise wouldn't be able to buy them.
Plus, this year I'm moving countries. When Christmas comes, I don't want to be struggling to my parents' house with an excess baggage nightmare giant bag of unwrapped stuff and then buying and wrapping it in my parents' cold loft when it could all be done ahead of time and I wouldn't need to worry about it.
There's a small bit of spontaneity left, although even that is relative - I'll buy that in November.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
We're on a very tight budget this year and I've been getting my stuff for Christmas and birthdays from the charity shops - unwanted pressies - lot cheaper than I'd have to pay anywhere else I think and it's fun because I never know quite what I'll find. I'm doing baskets this year so everyone is having quite a few small things as opposed to one bigger thing.
That includes my teenage grandchildren............their mums family spoil them rotten anyway and they have the latest gadgets etc. so they just might find a box of 'assorted fun things' a refreshing change.
I'm trying to organise it as I get................take it up to the spare room and out it in the pile thats for Friend A, B, grandchildren and so on so I don't get too muddled nearer the time.
Christmas cards are next on the list to do.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

i have bought for friends and extended family already, i have paper and cards. i will get the prezzies for parents and brother nearer the time. starting early and getting prezzies in the sales mean i can budget better and everyone gets a decent prezzie and not somthing small.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.
