ebay square trade?

Hey all,
I just been talking to someone on ebay and i want to purchase a load of mobile phones of him for a certain price. He has a 131 positive feedback and 4 negative.
He goes he is currently in Finland but he is willing to use the ebay square trade which i dont have the first clue about.
Can anyone tell me is it safe to use, to send a 4 digit number through and does it cost anything, also is there a chance of getting my money stolen as i dont trust the guy but i will be speaking over the phone. He also lives in the west midlands like my personal self.

I dont trust anyone of ebay, if i find out where they live then theres hell to pay especially as he lives in the west midlands. ;D
