Wrong name on CC, Company says its fine

in Credit cards
Hi, my wife today received her new Sky card and they had two letters of the surname around the wrong way (both on the card and the letters address details).
She phoned them up, they said they had corrected it on all her details and said that if if they weren't using chip and pin, they would put a block on the card and send out a new one, but as it's chip and pin, they wont bother, just continue to use it and when it runs out (3 years time) the new one will have the correct details on.
Anyone see a problem with this? She's happy as long as it's legal (using all available credit for balance transfer anyway)
Thanks

How disgraceful of them to refuse to change an incorrectly embossed name on the card. If I were you I'd call them back and demand them to issue a replacement card with the correct spelling of your name.
P.S. If your name is incorrectly spelt on their database then they MUST correct it as it needs to match your credit file0 -
they say itas fine yet one day will notice and accuse her of knowingly using a card in thw wrong name.
LMAO @ them sayin its cool!0 -
Definitely ask them to replace the card. If they say "cool man", tell them you need a letter confirming this. Never just get a verbal confirmation from them.0

If they've now corrected the details should be okay on any new card?
Phone them and tell them you've accidentally cut the card and ask for a replacement.
See what the replacement has on it - it's not a hassle for them to reissue the card."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Many thanks.
She's going to get them to send her a new one.Martin Lewis is always giving us advice on how to force companies to do things.
