Sim not recognised?

Just bought a motorolla razor 8 and put my contract sim in it and it keeps saying there is no sim? Tried my sons sim and it says the same so I know it`s not my sim but the phone.

Any ideas what could be the matter with it or anything I can do apart from take it back to the shop?

Is your SIM a uSIM as used on 3G?

where did you buy it from? and how long ago
usually within 28 days you can take it back to a store and get a replacement

I have no idea what a uSIM is? It`s an old sim card,probably about 8 years,works fine in my other phone and my sons phone but just not in the new phone.

Bought it out the O2 shop about 5 hours ago,looks like I`m trecking back into town in the morning.

so it wasn't the sim card they gave you?did they not give you a sim card? if they did just try that one

Found out what was wrong,I put the sim cards in upside down according to the ex?
