Hi,
I wanted to buy some sort of TV tuner for my macbook so I can watch freeview but I'm unsure which one to buy. I found this one http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=7E50163B&nplm=TK658
But I think it's a bit pricey. Are there any other cheaper alternatives for a mac?
I'm going on holiday soon to New York. Do you think they would sell them at airport duty free?
thanks in advance

Hauppauge sell what looks to be the same or v. similar device as the WinTV-HVR-900, which will work with a Mac, and looks to be obtainable much cheaper.
It also seems a bit of a waste of money to buy something with an analogue tuner which will be unusable in a only a few years...
It's a while since I last travelled to the States, but my experience of Duty Free shops was that their prices were hardly less than you would pay over here. They seem to set their prices on the basis that they have a captive group of bored people with credit cards in their pockets...0 -
Elgato Eye TV 3 is the one to go for, gets fantastic reviews. There are lots of versions of the Elgato system.
Full info at: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/home.en.html
And for help in choosing which tuner: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/products/tuner.en.html
For prices try: www.jigsaw24.com and www.cancomuk.com0 -

Isn't that just the software and the tuner sold seperate? I think that works out more expensive than on the Apple website (I'm guessing the software already comes with the tuner) or is the eyeTV3 a much better programme with more features?
I might be wrong but it's all a bit confusing!

Yes that's right, follow the link for the tuners too. Eye TV 3 is the latest version, it is a terrific piece of software though, and you can get bundles with various tuners.

You'll get much better value / price offers with a third party for these items, than with Apple.0
